In this series of photographs, I explore my growth over the years through memories tied to specific items, using leaves as a symbol of growth and wisdom. Leaves represent personal development, self-reflection, and renewal as they grow, change, and fall in a continuous cycle. This typology showcases different types of leaves found in Florida, my home state, but these leaves are composed of objects that hold personal significance—items tied to memories, daily use, or family connections. Each leaf’s shape is drawn out and filled with symbolic objects, which are then photographed in black and white to evoke nostalgia.
This collection allows me to reflect on my past and recognize the growth I have experienced. While the items might seem mundane, they carry deep meaning and have shaped my fondest memories. The photographs invite a deeper reflection on how even the most ordinary objects play a role in my personal development, offering a visual narrative of my journey and the items that have shaped who I am.
